2010 Camp Descriptions
Camp descriptions are provided to help you choose which basketball camp best matches your camper's skills and interests. Contact us if you need more information or help deciding on a camp.
Little Dribbler Camp—Grades 1-4
Boys and girls grades 1–4 can enjoy basketball while learning the basic fundamentals. Girls and boys will NOT be
grouped together for instruction or scrimmage purposes.

Pure Shooters Camps—Grades 4-12
During her career, Janet Karvonen was regarded as one of the nation's premier jump shooters. In her shooting camps,
Karvonen is able to provide the offensive instruction which continues to improve the level of girls' basketball in Minnesota. The camp focuses
primarily on correct shooting form and footwork. Players will have their shooting form videotaped and individually analyzed.

Offensive Training Camps—Grades 4-12
Our Offensive Training Camps are special one-day events where players can sharpen their shooting form and
offensive skills. Drills and games will focus on teaching campers to become complete offensive players. Players will
learn how to increase their shooting percentage, boost their offensive confidence, and make the players around them better.
July 1—BLOOMINGTON JEFFERSON ACTIVITY CENTER

Junior All-Star Camp—Grades 5-9
The Junior All-Star Camp meets the needs of girls who have made a commitment to basketball. It is designed for the
player who has already experienced success on the court but wants to prepare for the next level. This camp
offers high-level instruction and intense competition for campers who are ready to work on advanced skills. Challenge
yourself against the top players in your age level. The final day of the All-Star Camp will feature a "day of competition"--a full 6 hours of games and contests!
July 26-29—BENILDE ST. MARGARET HIGH SCHOOL (ST. LOUIS PARK)

Guard Camps—Grades 4-12
The Guard Camp is designed to give specialized instruction to players who play on the perimeter. Point guards, off-guards and wing
players will work on both offensive and defensive concepts specific to their position. Players will learn about new moves to drive to the
basket, effective on and off the ball defensive tactics, and the importance of strong guard play on every team.
June 21-22—MOUNDS PARK ACADEMY (MAPLEWOOD)

Post Camps—Grades 4-12
Post players will benefit from instruction for their inside-the-paint play. Forwards and Centers will work on both offensive and
defensive concepts specific to their position. Players will learn about effective post moves, the importance of correct footwork, and both
offensive and defensive positioning.
June 23-24—MOUNDS PARK ACADEMY (MAPLEWOOD)

Final Prep Camp—Grades 4-9
Join us for a day of skill review, shooting form check and tryout preparations.
Players will select weaker skills they want to firm up to gain confidence before their season.
Instruction will also include tips for practicing alone, how to deal with pre-tryout jitters,
and five key ways to impress coaches and evaluators.
August 11-12—Minnetonka High School
$185, 9am-3pm
